Crisis

Gosh i shld'nt even be on here to conserve my cell ph battery, but i thot id lv a few thots 2 remind me just how fortunate i really am. Hurricaine ike has left its mark and stretched across the entire country. This has never happend b4 in my lifetime. No power no electricity. No light just to go to the bathroom. No airconditioning, no stove, no fridge or freezer , spoiled food. Gas stations shut down. The pumps are eletric. Working in a nursing home taking care of 100 elderly ppl that cant take care of themselves: omg the frustration . Everything is eletric now. Air mattresses for pressure relief dont work. Eletric low beds stuck n hi position due 2 no electricity to lower them- increased risk of falls. Body lifts for heavy patients that cant bare any weight dont work. The kitchen has to serve cold food on paper plates- no hot water to wash dishes or to bathe patients for that matter. Gosh life support- oxygen concetrators and ventalators run on eletricity 2. Genorators run the basics like life support hallway lights, and medication rooms for about 8 hrs but without fuel (which has 2 come from an eletric pump) u run out of even this life line source. Gosh how did ppl survive b4 we got so spoiled
